Browse Greenville ZIP Code Areas

A Greenville ZIP code directory is a postal starting point, not a list of people. Use it to check how an address is handled by the mail system, then compare the answer with the county parcel map or the responsible records office. A postal label may extend beyond city limits, and a city address may sit within a different geographic boundary used by a public agency. When an address matters, confirm the physical site, mailing destination, and parcel identifiers separately. That keeps a ZIP search focused on postal geography instead of making claims about who lives at an address.

Greenville ZIP Code Coverage

The research supports a controlled Greenville postal list rather than a guessed map of neighborhoods. A 2026 USPS Sorting and Delivery Center notice places seven codes in a Greenville delivery-unit grouping. That notice is useful evidence of current postal operations, but it is not a complete list of every code associated with a Greenville mailing label and does not draw a city boundary. Confirm a specific city-and-state result in the USPS tool before treating a code as an address match or assigning a special classification.

The USPS Greenville S&DC notice names those codes and the Greenville 29602 facility. It does not promise that the list is exhaustive, so a code outside the table requires its own USPS verification.

Greenville USPS ZIP Verification

USPS ZIP Code Lookup is the nationwide authority for pairing an address with its postal code. Its By City and State form uses a required City text field, a required State dropdown, and a Find button. Its By Address form accepts an optional company, required street address, optional apartment, and city and state or ZIP. The USPS page warns that a returned code does not confirm that a person or company is at that address. Use it to validate delivery geography, not personal presence.

USPS can also return category notices, including a PO Box or unique organization designation where applicable. The unattended research did not submit Greenville and South Carolina in the live form, so no complete city result list was claimed here. That is why the coverage table preserves the delivery-unit evidence and tells readers to check the live result before relying on a particular classification.

The USPS lookup screen provides the official City and State and address-verification routes.

Enter a public address only when checking a postal match, and keep the result separate from any conclusion about the people connected to that address.

Note: USPS results describe postal delivery information, which is different from city jurisdiction, Census geography, and county parcel records.

Greenville ZIP Code Search Fields

County tools have different roles from USPS. The Greenville County Real Property Search does not offer ZIP as a primary search field. Its documented front-form controls are tax year, Name, Street, Map No., Subdivision, and Sales Sheet No., and the page allows only one nonempty criterion at a time. County Maps can find addresses, real estate, roads, polling sites, schools, and parks, while its published layers retain ZIP-related fields. Use the map to understand a parcel or road, then use USPS for final postal confirmation.

Greenville County's mapping system distinguishes a road or area ZIP field from a site-address ZIP field. The parcel layer separately retains mailing address city, state, and ZIP. These are useful geographic labels, but the record structure itself shows why one code cannot serve every purpose in an address search.

Greenville Site and Mailing ZIPs

County parcel fields make a key Greenville distinction visible. The site address is the physical property location. The mailing address is the tax-contact destination. A legal description, subdivision, plat book and page, and PIN or tax map number identify land in the county and recording systems. A deed may rely on the legal description or book and page even when its older document does not use the street format that a modern postal lookup expects.

County GIS publishes a ZIP field for its road layer and a separate ZIPCODE field for site-address data. Its parcel schema also retains a mailing City, State, and ZIP. Treat the three uses as separate: mailing ZIP for tax correspondence, site-address ZIP for physical delivery geography, and road or area ZIP for a mapped feature. The GCGIS mapping applications page describes query, print, export, parcel-label, real-estate-report, and historical-aerial tools that can help reconcile those contexts.

Note: A tax contact's mailing ZIP and the site ZIP can differ, so neither should be used alone to identify a person's location.

Greenville Postal Boundary Limits

ZIP Codes are postal-routing constructs. Census ZIP Code Tabulation Areas, or ZCTAs, are generalized statistical representations and are not ZIP boundaries. The Census ZCTA guidance makes that distinction explicit. A Greenville mailing address may fall outside the incorporated city, and an address inside a city parcel may carry a postal designation that does not match the municipal label. State the geography being used before comparing a record.

Greenville's local maps add another layer. The City's public data guide says its city-limit polygon contains county-enclave holes and is updated within a week after annexation. County GIS covers county parcels and record geography, while the City Street Map Book covers streets in and around the City. Postal routes, City limits, county jurisdiction, and Census areas can overlap without being the same boundary.

The Census ZIP geography explanation shows why a map label should not be mistaken for a delivery boundary.

Use a Census area for statistical context and USPS for a live postal pairing, then use the county or City source that governs the record being sought.

Greenville ZIP Code Limits

A ZIP-wide search does not create a resident list. Property tools identify a selected tax record or parcel context. A registered owner, a tax mailing contact, a recorded-document party, and a person physically present at an address are different facts. County Maps can map parcels and nearby features, but it does not publish private utility or delivery-customer data. Motor-vehicle records have separate protections, and secure voter tools are not public street rosters.

South Carolina voter information is for the voter to check that person's own registration, precinct, polling place, and voting history. For a permitted voter-record request, contact Greenville County Registration and Elections for the current process, fields, fee, and restrictions. A records request cannot override protected data. Similarly, the Greenville County FOIA portal is for a narrow records request with a particular date, parcel, case, or document category, not an open-ended search for people in a postal zone.

ZIP and ZIP+4
A ZIP identifies a postal delivery area. ZIP+4 adds a more specific delivery segment and should be confirmed with USPS.
PO Box ZIP
A postal designation used for post-office box delivery. Its status should come from the live USPS result.
Unique ZIP
A USPS category that can apply to a single organization. Do not assume one applies without the USPS category notice.
Carrier route
A delivery grouping used by postal operations. It is not a municipal boundary or a list of residents.

Lawful use. Use Greenville postal and property records for family history, estate matters, property history, civic research, or record correction. Do not use them to stalk, harass, intimidate, or harm anyone.

Greenville Postal Delivery Context

The Greenville Sorting and Delivery Center notice is useful context for a changing postal system. It identifies the Greenville S&DC at 600 W. Washington Street, Greenville 29602, and lists the current delivery-unit group used in the coverage table. Its practical value is modest but important: it documents postal operations without turning that facility list into a claim about city limits, neighborhood coverage, or any person's address.

When USPS, county maps, and record images conflict, preserve the source-specific identifiers and use the fallback chain. Start with County Real Property Search or GIS for the parcel and current site clues. Move to the ROD or plat for the legal description and recorded history. Use City permit or FOIA records for a project file, USPS for postal standardization, and the South Carolina Room for an older street guide, directory, or map. The counter, written request, library, and archives remain useful when a portal does not carry the needed record.

Note: The S&DC grouping is evidence of postal operations, not an exhaustive Greenville ZIP inventory or a municipal-boundary map.
